Miyamae-cho Festival
[Toyota-City]
Date : Shigaku Festival: October 20th (Saturday)
Hongaku Festival: October 21st (Sunday)
  • Miyamae-cho Festival
When the residents and towns were relocated due to natural disasters (floods) in the 1760s, the float for the Koromo Festival was transferred to Uemachi, and there was no float in the southwest area of the Koromo-jinja Shrine.
Until around 1965, residents of Uemachi and Shitamachi jointly paraded with a single float, however, a float was built in 2003 through the enthusiasm of local resident volunteers. Although it is not part of the Koromo Festival, another annual festival is held on the same day as the Koromo Festival.
In the Shigaku Festival, the float parades around the town, and at the Hongaku Festival, it is pulled into the Koromo-jinja Shrine.
Unlike in the Komoro Festival, confetti is not thrown, and the float is pulled around with high-spirited cheers of, "Wasshoi".
