  • Miyoshi Hachiman-sha Shrine Autumn Grand Festival
In the Miyoshi Hachiman-sha Shrine Festival held every year in mid-October, floats are pulled around and are dedicated to the Hachiman-sha Shrine.
The two floats, Miyoshi Kami-gumi and Miyoshi Shimo-gumi, take turns each year to lead the float parade.
The history of the festival dates back to the Edo period, and the floats are designated as the city's cultural property.
The floats are pulled mainly by groups of young people accompanied by festival music played by children in the morning, and in the afternoon and at night, the pulling and music is performed by adults. At night, many people visit to see the lanterns lit up on the floats.
