- 【A magnificent collaboration of floats and Ishidori Saisha floats】
The float events of the Owari Tsushima Autumn Festival have been passed down in four districts: Nanakiri, Imaichiba, Mukaijima, and Kamori.
The festivals were once held on different dates, but they are now held on the 1st Sunday of October and the Saturday before it.
Every Tsushima float has a Karakuri puppet on board, which provide truly realistic performances full of individuality.
Compared to Kamori's floats decorated with cherry blossoms and made with weeping willows on the front, the floats of Nanakiri, Imaichiba, and Mukaijima are smaller, and the way they wheelie the float to turn is some sight to see.
The Ishidori Saisha floats parade around the town to the vigorous sound of gongs and drums.
The whole town is enveloped in a festival mood. The floats and Ishidori Saisha floats that bring excitement to Tsushima in autumn are important pieces of Tsushima's cultural property and have more than 100 years of history.
