- Okkawa Gion Festival
- [Handa-City]
- Date : Annually on a Saturday near the 26th in July
- Although there used to be three floats pulled at the Okkawa Tsushima-sha Shrine Annual Grand Festival, it was discontinued at some point. In 1998, after 60 years, a Hanaguruma float called the Tennosha was restored using sections that were partly preserved by Tenno Ko (a religious group of Shrine worshipers) and parts received from other districts. These days, the Hanaguruma parade around the town and the fireworks are the main events. The Hanaguruma float is decorated with colorful lanterns, and there is a girls' Nihon Buyo (traditional Japanese dance) performance on the front stage.
