Yokomatsu Shinmei-sha Shrine Annual Festival
[Agui-Town]
Date : 4/27/2019 to 4/28/2019
  • Yokomatsu Shinmei-sha Shrine Annual Festival
The Yokomatsu Festival is held at the Shinmei-sha Shrine, the tutelary shrine of the district, to pray for a good harvest for the year. The festival features a Yokosha float parade, festival music, and the dedication of a Sanbaso dance performance.
In the Yoi Festival held the night before the Main Festival, the float parades with 108 lit lanterns, creating a fantastical sight to see.
On the day of the festival, the float gracefully makes its way against the backdrop of the rich green country landscape. The dynamic rotation of the float held towards the end of the festival is impressive.
Finally, festival music is played and a Sanbaso dance is dedicated at the Shinmei-sha Shrine, where the festive drumming is especially spectacular.
